Proton Therapy

Proton Therapy coverage with insurance policies can be complex. Fortunately, we have a dedicated team to work with you to finance your treatment. We accept self-paying and insured patients. We have experience in communicating with various health authorities and government officials internationally.

Financing Coverage

Proton therapy cost depends on the diagnosis and number of treatment sessions. At Proton SG, packages start from SGD $40,000.

For local patients, treatment and imaging are Medisave and Medishield-claimable. Our clinic and doctors are on HSBC life, Great Eastern, NTUC Income, and Prudential.

We also accept corporate insurance ( Fullerton, MHC, Alliance, and IHP ).

For international patients, we accept Letter of Guarantee from major international insurances.

For Australian and New Zealanders, we can write you a letter to assist in your Medical Treatment Overseas Program ( MTOP) and High Cost Treatment Pool (HCTP).

Our intake team will collect your medical reports and imaging DICOM to ensure a smooth process.

Eligibility Criteria for MediShield Life Claim for Proton Beam Therapy (PBT)

Treatment should be given with a curative intent
Patient does not have metastatic disease or advanced stage disease, with the exception of tumours remain curable when metastatic
Patient should have adequate performance status and is medically sufficiently stable to undergo PBT
PBT should be considered when the expected rate of severe side effects from other treatments are unacceptable; and
Patient should have good prognosis, with expected survival of more than five year after treatment with PBT. PBT is not allowed for palliative care cases.

MediSave claims are not subjected to the eligibility criteria.

Proton Beam Therapy (PBT)

Uses high-energy sub-atomic particles called protons to precisely target tumours in the body while reducing radiation damage to surrounding normal organs and tissue. It is often used in the treatment of complex cancers such as in the head and neck, brain, liver, and in childhood cancers.
